At this same time, one of her best friends, Vimbo Watson, was also praying that she would meet her husband. They felt like God had forgotten them. And so, they started texting each other every Friday night, a little encouraging Bible verse, or a sermon clip, or a prayer.
She found herself looking forward to those texts. Sometimes it was all that got her through her entire week. It was a light in a time of deep confusion. Like a candle one could carry when the power goes out, that gives you just enough light to still see.
It is out of that season that Heather published It’s Not Your Turn, which became a bestselling Christian book. Her friend Vimbo would also meet her husband, and their wedding truly felt like a worship service.
Through this, Heather realized her dream wasn’t actually to publish a book. She just thought that was her only option to reach people. Her dream, was truly, to encourage people through her writing, and she could do that even if no one had ever published It’s Not Your Turn, or if no one ever published her again.

About 5 years ago Heather was really confused with what God wanted from her. She had always wanted to be a writer but had been rejected from every major Christian publishing house one can think of. She was losing hope.
